We combine our love of fashion and beautiful Litchfield County homes, and bring to you a new series – Fashionable Real Estate! Lord & Taylor in Danbury styled us in four outfits, giving us a taste of what we can expect to see in stores this spring. Shot in Morris, CT, at a historic landmark home for sale through William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty. This beautiful estate includes the former Lakeside, CT post office and Slaiby’s General Store, which currently houses The Gallery. Happy shopping!

Last week I got to try on my first pair of Manolo Blahniks in the very best way. Finally, finally, having big feet was to my advantage. The story begins with Lora and me attending a talk at the Litchfield Historical Society given by George Malkemus and Tony Yurgaitis, CEO and Vice President of Manolo Blahnik. Just in case you don’t know your Manolo from your elbow – if there were a king of all shoe designers, Manolo would walk around with a crown on his head.

In a room of about 75 or so attendees, George and Tony shared the story of how Manolo became the world-renowned shoe designer that he is today. Here are our CliffsNotes.

Art Hearts Fashion always puts on an amazing fashion show during NYFW, so we had to attend again this season! If you don’t know about AHF, their website gives a little recap, “Art Hearts Fashion was created by designer and philanthropist Eric Rosete in 2011. Events are a leading platform for designers and artists to showcase their collections in a contemporary fashion week setting.” This season they will showcase over 20 designers at 5 of New York’s iconic locations.

Hello, our names are Lora and Bev and we are clothes-aholics.

Actually no, that sounds like it’s a problem, which it most definitely is not. We just have a healthy love for fashion and pretty things. There’s nothing wrong with that…right?

Brad Tranfield, owner of Robertson Jewelers both in New Milford and Litchfield, invited us into his New Milford store with open arms. He was brimming with enthusiasm talking about all the amazing lines he carries, the history behind his store’s location, the things that sets his store apart from others, and most importantly, the willingness to let us try on some of his gems so we could play at being jewelry models for the morning. How fabulous!
