We first learned of artist Robert Deyber when we visited the Housatonic Trading Company in Bantam. Store owner Robert Graham presented us with neighboring artist Robert Deyber’s huge coffee table book, “Figures of Speech,” and we couldn’t get enough of it. We spent hours leafing through the pages, playing guess-the-phrase. Robert’s paintings are fun and entertaining, and as told on his website, his style has been described as both “kitsch and absurdist.” We just know we love!

Robert takes commonly used phrases/sayings/euphemisms that we’ve all heard at some point or another and adds his own clever twist. Once you figure out his spin on the English language, you too can become quite fluent!

Dead of Summer actress Amber Coney and The Flash actress Violett Beane (Jesse “Quick” Wells) were sitting a few seats down from us at the Fashion Palette show during NYFW – so naturally, we threw some popcorn at them and loudly whispered, “Pssst, you guys, can we do a quick interview and photo shoot after the show??” – to which they agreed. Ok, so we actually went through their super lovely agent, Nilda Carrazana who helped us all connect after the buzz of seeing our first swimwear collection (it was a first for us all).

How we love having Unlocking Litchfield as an excuse to meet our interesting neighbors! Inquisitive by nature, our “At home with…” features allow us to capture a glimpse into the lives of some really cool people. Today’s power couple is Alexander and Gina Duckworth. The Duckworths and their two younger children, Aubrey and Sebastian, live in Litchfield on the weekends and during the week, they’re being all kinds of fabulous in their careers in NYC. Come, be a Nosy Nancy alongside us!

My fiancé Michael and I met up with Sarah at The White Barn at South Farms to start our planning process for the wedding…

Their website sums them up the best, “[They’ve] appeared in concert venues across the world, sold millions of records, and had their music appear in hundreds of movies and television shows. With sold out concerts from the Hollywood Bowl to Lincoln Center, appearances with many of the country’s finest symphony orchestras, and television appearances ranging from Dancing with the Stars to Superbowl XXXIII, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy continues its decades-long mission to celebrate and revitalize jazz and swing music — America’s original musical art form — and bring joy to audiences around the world.”
