Here’s a little glimpse into our typical conversation on the drive to any of our “At home with” features. You know, the features where we basically invite ourselves over to interesting people/local celeb’s homes, for a chat and to hang out. It goes back and forth like this, “I hope they like us, I hope they feed us, I hope they’re fun, I hope they offer us a drink, I hope they don’t think we’re weirdos.”

Our visit with actor Paul Marcarelli (the “Can you hear me now?” guy) and Ryan Brown at their recently renovated country home in Litchfield, did not disappoint on any hope…

If you’re a jazz/jazz fusion lover, then you definitely know Spyro Gyra. These guys have released 31 albums, been playing for 40+ years, and have performed over 5,000 shows. They’ve also sold over 10 million albums, with one platinum and two gold records. We’re a bit impressed, to say the least! They’re headed to Infinity Hall in Norfolk on October 22nd. We were excited to chat with Jay Beckenstein, founding member and bandleader…

Dead of Summer actress Amber Coney and The Flash actress Violett Beane (Jesse “Quick” Wells) were sitting a few seats down from us at the Fashion Palette show during NYFW – so naturally, we threw some popcorn at them and loudly whispered, “Pssst, you guys, can we do a quick interview and photo shoot after the show??” – to which they agreed. Ok, so we actually went through their super lovely agent, Nilda Carrazana who helped us all connect after the buzz of seeing our first swimwear collection (it was a first for us all).

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. A band that’s been together for over 23 years, and if you haven’t heard them before (a MUST if you haven’t) then check them out. From playing the halftime show at the Superbowl to Dancing with the Stars, they are definitely worth seeing…and guess what? They’re headed to Infinity Hall Norfolk on Saturday, March 12th. Get your tickets now – what a fun surprise date night!

Their website sums them up the best, “[They’ve] appeared in concert venues across the world, sold millions of records, and had their music appear in hundreds of movies and television shows. With sold out concerts from the Hollywood Bowl to Lincoln Center, appearances with many of the country’s finest symphony orchestras, and television appearances ranging from Dancing with the Stars to Superbowl XXXIII, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy continues its decades-long mission to celebrate and revitalize jazz and swing music — America’s original musical art form — and bring joy to audiences around the world.”

Josie Natori is a New York based fashion designer and the CEO and founder of The Natori Company. Well known for their designer lingerie, which is how Josie Natori began the company (almost 40 years ago), Natori has since expanded to include ready-to-wear, evening wear, sleepwear, fragrance, home textiles, accessories, and coming soon, legwear!

You may know Ryan Kristafer as a co-host on CT Style on ABC 8, airing weekday mornings at 9 am right after Good Morning America. If you don’t, you should probably get familiar – I believe we’ll all be saying, “we remember Ryan when…,” when we see him on SNL in the future. That’s just our personal prediction; dude is funny!

We invited Ryan to come to LC to a) model beautiful clothes from R. Derwin Clothiers in Litchfield with us, and b) let us interview him. Of course, he said yes!

Watch as we spring Ryan with a game of “would you rather,” and bring on a surprise guest to make things even more interesting!
