Litchfield Magazine and TownVibe, we tip our hats to you for putting together the Taste of Litchfield! Litchfield County is a tasty place, so to get so many incredible restaurants, specialty markets, and distillers in one glorious location was so much fun, and super convenient for us tasters!

This was a foodies paradise…aka our paradise! Without further ado, here’s our highlights of the day, Unlocking Litchfield style. đŸ™‹đŸŒđŸ’đŸ»

We couldn’t have been more thrilled to be invited to spend some time “behind the scenes” with the MOMIX dance company before their performance at the Warner Theater. Who hasn’t sat in the audience, waiting for the curtain to lift and the magic to begin, and wondered what’s going on back there?! We felt truly privileged to sit in with some of the dancers as they went through their pre-performance practices.

When Daniel Sanchez and James Michael Murphy at Onyx II Fine Jewelers invited us to join them for dinner at Good News CafĂ© to chat about a possible partnering idea; we won’t lie, we were intrigued!

To say we’re two women who love a bit of glitz and glam is an understatement. We do. We love it. Dan and James are perhaps the very definition – suave, stylish, and they know their diamonds. Dan is movie star handsome and James has cheekbones and hair that any supermodel would envy. When they proposed that we partner with them to host their annual open house and trunk show…we didn’t hesitate to say, “We do!”

The HVA’s annual auction benefit raises funds to support the important work that the Housatonic Valley Association does for all of us here in Litchfield County and beyond. The organization protects land and water throughout the 2,000-square-mile Housatonic Watershed. And besides all of that amazing stuff, as Christine Baranski (auction chair and actress) told us last week on the phone – the auction is just a really good, fun event! We couldn’t agree more. This was our 2nd year attending, and our 2nd year of forgetting to eat lunch before sipping on Prosecco!

Here’s our photo recap of the afternoon.

When our new gal pal Gina Duckworth cordially invited us to the Next Artists Fashion Week Beauty Lounge (spearheaded by Gina and her team) we cordially replied, “YES, PLEASE!!” An afternoon of complimentary services provided by the Next Artists team (best in the biz) including makeup, manicures, cryo facials, massages, and so much more, along with the most amazing goodie bags – well, do you know us?!

To “unlock” Lime Rock Park has been on our wishlist for a while. So, when they invited us to spend a day at their annual Sunday in the Park event, we were totally excited. Lime Rock is a historic road racing circuit in Lakeville which has been in continuous operation since 1957, making it one of the oldest tracks in North America. Almost all of the sports car racing greats have raced at Lime Rock.

Thankfully swimwear season is almost behind us here in LC (we’ve already switched over to comfort eating), but it was very much “now” at the Fashion Palette New York’s Australian Swim/Resort wear runway show! Nine different Australian designers showed off their SS17 collections at Pier 59.

What a pleasure it was to attend the Josie Natori Spring/Summer 2017 Presentation held at the impressive Waterfall Mansion during NYFW. The alternative to showing a collection on a runway, a presentation allows guests to get up close and personal! Those models are good sports and reminded us of the Queen’s Guard, with all of us staring at them. We did manage to get one model to smile at us though…scroll on and enjoy the collection. We loved it!

The Wedding!

A wedding is really just a big party, but on a grander scale (and more fun) than that of a Sunday brunch. After a year and a half of planning with my fiancé Michael, August 6th was upon us. We could not have done any of it without our family and friends, including these truly talented Litchfield County businesses below. They graciously opened themselves up to our blogging adventures while we were planning our big day. And it all came together beautifully! Enjoy the photos by our wedding photographer (Fritz Photography) and now friends, Bill Fritz and Corey Roberts, taken at The Country Club of Waterbury

What a complete treat it was to be invited to attend this year’s MOMIX in the Garden.

To see MOMIX perform is always sure to be an incredible experience, but to see MOMIX perform privately for a small group of about 200 or so attendees – well, it was one of those never to be forgotten evenings! The half-hour performance (a selection of dances from their varied shows) took place at the home of Kristin & Grant Mudge in Norfolk. The evening would benefit the Susan B. Anthony project based in Torrington.
