Thankfully swimwear season is almost behind us here in LC (we’ve already switched over to comfort eating), but it was very much “now” at the Fashion Palette New York’s Australian Swim/Resort wear runway show! Nine different Australian designers showed off their SS17 collections at Pier 59.

With a couple of days scheduled doing all the fashionista things of our dreams at NYFW, we asked Bartley Johnstone, stylist and owner of B. Johnstone in Kent, to help us come up with an amazing outfit for one of the days!

We asked Bartley to please kick us out of our comfort “go-to” zones, and help us put together an outfit that would scream “street style!”

What a pleasure it was to attend the Josie Natori Spring/Summer 2017 Presentation held at the impressive Waterfall Mansion during NYFW. The alternative to showing a collection on a runway, a presentation allows guests to get up close and personal! Those models are good sports and reminded us of the Queen’s Guard, with all of us staring at them. We did manage to get one model to smile at us though…scroll on and enjoy the collection. We loved it!

Onyx II

I’m pretty sure that neither Lora nor I have ever been as laden in fine jewelry as we were the day we went to visit Daniel Sanchez and James Murphy at Onyx II Fine Jewelry. Located in Watertown, we asked if we could visit, play dress-up with all of their precious gems, and perhaps have a little Prosecco and ask a Q or 2. 😁

Allegra & Luca is an affordable boho brand we recently discovered (yep, again on Instagram!) based in Litchfield County. They carry items for babies, kids, and fully grown adults. 😉 All items are proudly made in the USA and Mexico. Find out more about the brand from owner, Allegra Kashmer, and allow us to show you a couple of very cute items they sell! Everything you see here, and more, can be purchased through their website www.allegraandluca.com.

Cathy B

Cathy B is a new biz that we’re jumping up and down excited to tell you about! Cathy Boskoff is the owner of a new store based in Woodbury, bringing some really awesome fashionable finds to the area.

We met via Instagram (usual story, mutual #gentlestalking) and after a two-hour non-stop laughing and talking dinner at The White Horse, an instant friendship was made. She is a kindred spirits in our love of fashion, who is searching for unique, nobody-else-will-have-it things; be it, purses, shoes, scarves, clothing, jewelry… we could go on and on! Check out our pics to see some of the treasures we speak of…

We know it’s still trés hot outside, but fall sweater weather is a comin’! We teamed up with Wooden Ships by Paola Buendia to show off some of our favorites from their autumn/winter ’16 collection. Wooden Ships is a super eco-friendly, socially conscious, cool company based in NYC, and they make the snuggliest sweaters ever!

Nestled in the woods of Bethlehem, on a picturesque horse farm, is the jewelry design studio of Steinen Hurtado, owner of Steinen Jewelry. We first met Steinen (pronounced stay-nin) when we were working on our Valentine’s Day gift guide and not only fell in love with her work, but with her!

So while Bev is in “full-on-camp-mode” at Buck’s Rock, I decided to head over to Bethlehem to catch up with Steinen and get to know her better. I also wanted to see how things were going on the custom earrings she was creating for Bev and my sister Holly, for their matrons of honor outfits for the wedding!

Lora recently discovered JED on Instagram – a high-end knitwear company (launched last year) that began with luxurious Italian cashmere and is now expanding to silks and other woven categories. JED’s designer, Jed Krascella worked alongside Perry Ellis and has created this amazing new brand that we’re pretty excited about!

After a little online flirting and gentle stalking, we offered our blogeling and styling skills – we’d each style one of their sweaters (of their choosing), three different ways. We have to say, they chose perfectly! With Litchfield County as our beautiful backdrop, it was a match made in cashmere heaven.

Jed is also a fellow Nutmegger, so read below for the fabulous interview!

Photos shot on location around the town of Kent and at Gooseboro Drive-In, Bantam (check out our feature next week!).

This entire post is brought to you by Terston and the letter S – for stylin’! We’ll tell you more about the store in Kent, and chat with owner Geraldine Woodruff tomorrow. For now, enjoy a purely fashion blog post! All clothing available from the store.
