The LovyandRose & Unlocking Litchfield shopping garden party!

Take a Litchfield County blog (us) and a brand new LC business (LovyandRose), have a glass of wine together, decide to throw a party to introduce the LovyandRose shopping experience….and voila….

The “LovyandRose/Unlocking Litchfield shopping garden party!”

We never want to shop in the “regular” way ever again (whatever “regular” may be these days) and only shop at lovely garden party events! Complete with hors d’oeuvres, peach sangria, an awesome variety of other local vendors, plus loads of fun girlfriend time, it’s THE way to shop and connect! We even had a mini belly dance class half way through the afternoon.

LovyandRose had their full array of amazing accessories, jewelry, and clothing on display at L+R’s Cathy Boskoff’s beautiful home in Woodbury. Candy for the eyes the moment you stepped into the… “shopping zone!” LovyandRose will be launching their online store soon, but in the meantime, be sure to follow them on Instagram!

Eats and drinks…

But first…grab a glass of peach sangria and a delicious nibble courtesy of The First Bite catering. Our initial introduction to Anne McClelland’s culinary skills was when we met her at Ameico for a wine and dine series. We immediately knew we would collaborate in the near future ….basically, so we could have the pleasure of eating Anne’s wonderful cooking again. So good!

Anne and her team served guests crudité with red bean hummus, edamame and chickpea salad with honey lime dressing, salmon and dill mousse on cucumber, individual fruit salads, lemon squares and Baklava bites! A perfectly planned menu for the occasion – just what The First Bite does best!

More shopping…

Allegra and Luca – So nice to also see more of the Allegra and Luca line which we recently featured on the blog. Allegra told us how she started with baby clothes initially, but that many of her customers are from the south where “mommy and me” clothes are very popular, and led Allegra to offer adult sizing of her super cute clothes and shoes! We’re so glad she did!

The Primitive Home – Holly brought a condensed version of her store in New Milford to the event and set up a beautiful table filled with Goat Boy soaps, tin stars, local honey, and wooden signs.

Les Beaux Vous – Owner and beauty expert, Linda, was on hand to introduce her newest venture, a house division of LBV, Lulu makeup. Lulu makeup is skin care quality and really fantastic – we’re excited to tell you more about this amazing new line soon – look out for makeup tutorials! Linda helped guests find their perfect red lip color.

DoTerra Oils – was represented by the lovely Nicole Buono. Nicole explained to guests how to use doTERRA essential oils to keep themselves, family, and pets happy and healthy! She is able to teach her customers how pure essential oils can be used for physical ailments, injuries, allergies, as an insect repellent, for behavioral issues, anxiety, digestive issues, and more. For a personal consultation or to host a class you can contact Nicole at

JaDivaJoy – So nice to meet Joyce, the super sweet mixed media artist who brought an impressive selection of her work. Joyce has a very distinct style which is whimsical, wistful, romantic, and unique. I couldn’t resist buying a collage print created by Joyce after the events of September 11. Joyce shared the personal thought process behind the finished piece. Lora bought that fabulous heart necklace in the tray below…

Tiny Gardens – Artistic talent obviously runs in the family, Joyce’s sister Celeste, creates and sells container gardens, terrariums, and small green worlds. Each garden has something super cute to discover…a special house for a tiny fairy, a miniature pitchfork, teeny weeny birds. Imaginative and so sweet. Jenna (our belly dancer extraordinaire’s daughter) was extremely happy with her garden. She used her saved chore money to buy the one that spoke to her most! She told us this was her best day ever, besides when she went to The American Doll store in NYC ..totally understand that can’t be beaten.

William Pitt Sotheby’s Gael Hammer was on hand to help guests find a perfect Litchfield County home…or at least plant the seeds and dreams for a new home! Gael had a brochure of houses currently for sale – some absolute jaw dropping beauties. We have our eye on MLS:L10080893 if anyone is interested 🙂

Then there was belly dancing….

Wanessa Anderson, owner of W. Rhythm Fitness & Wellness Studio in Kent, stopped by to teach a mini Belly Dance Party. Wanessa has an infectious way about her that makes you just want to get up and join in and do what she’s doing (oh so well by the way!). I’m not sure any of us had too much belly dancing experience when we started, but by the end of the session we all felt like belly dancing goddesses!!

No event is complete without a step and repeat!

To top the entire wonderful afternoon off, we welcomed everyone to do a spot of posing on our step and repeat…strike a pose!

Cathy Boskoff and Susan Moses with their Mister Krisp LovyandRose rice crispy cake!

A humungous thanks to Cathy and her husband Abbey for opening their home and beautiful garden to us and to all who attended!
