The Wedding!

Let’s be honest, a wedding is just a big party, but on a grander scale (and more fun) than that of a Sunday brunch. After a year and a half of planning with my fiancé Michael, August 6th was upon us. We couldn’t have done any of it without our family and friends, including the truly talented Litchfield County businesses below. They graciously opened themselves up to our blogging adventures while we were planning our big day. And it all came together beautifully!

What a complete treat it was to be invited to attend this year’s MOMIX in the Garden.

To see MOMIX perform is always sure to be an incredible experience, but to see MOMIX perform privately for a small group of about 200 or so attendees – well, it was one of those never to be forgotten evenings! The half-hour performance (a selection of dances from their varied shows) took place at the home of Kristin & Grant Mudge in Norfolk. The evening would benefit the Susan B. Anthony project based in Torrington.

The 19th annual Tea for Two Hundred garden party, benefiting the Interfaith AIDS Ministry of Greater Danbury and the Gunn Historical Museum of Washington, CT, was a pretty hot and steamy affair…

At 94 degrees and 76% humidity, we did our best to look cool, composed, and unwilted, alongside all of the other guests in attendance! Thankfully, the dress code for this renowned event (hosted at Gael Hammer and Gary Goodwin’s beautiful home in Washington Depot, and sponsored by Eileen and Brian Riano) is to wear white. The invite also recommends wearing an eclectic hat (just in case one might want to take part in the hat contest). Check and check!

Allegra & Luca is an affordable boho brand we recently discovered (yep, again on Instagram!) based in Litchfield County. They carry items for babies, kids, and fully grown adults. 😉 All items are proudly made in the USA and Mexico. Find out more about the brand from owner, Allegra Kashmer, and allow us to show you a couple of very cute items they sell! Everything you see here, and more, can be purchased through their website www.allegraandluca.com.

Cathy B

Cathy B is a new biz that we’re jumping up and down excited to tell you about! Cathy Boskoff is the owner of a new store based in Woodbury, bringing some really awesome fashionable finds to the area.

We met via Instagram (usual story, mutual #gentlestalking) and after a two-hour non-stop laughing and talking dinner at The White Horse, an instant friendship was made. She is a kindred spirits in our love of fashion, who is searching for unique, nobody-else-will-have-it things; be it, purses, shoes, scarves, clothing, jewelry… we could go on and on! Check out our pics to see some of the treasures we speak of…

We know it’s still trés hot outside, but fall sweater weather is a comin’! We teamed up with Wooden Ships by Paola Buendia to show off some of our favorites from their autumn/winter ’16 collection. Wooden Ships is a super eco-friendly, socially conscious, cool company based in NYC, and they make the snuggliest sweaters ever!
